OIL PALM SEEDLINGS

In view of developing high quality oil palm seedlings, the company is maintaining a nursery at Kulathupuzha estate, since 1998. Tenera sprouts from the Thodupuzha seed garden are brought here and growing scientifically in primary and secondary stages for a period of 16 months and distributing to farmers for field planting. Proper selection and culling are insisted periodically so as to ensure the quality of material. The seedlings are properly cared from insect, pest’s attacks, and also supplied with recommended dosage of fertilizers, along with the regular watering, shade and mulch. Replanting of OPIL plantations carried out so far has been done with the materials raised in the nursery. As per the feedback reports from farmers, the overall performance of the material is encouraging.

ഉയർന്ന ഗുണനിലവാരമുള്ള എണ്ണപ്പന തൈകൾ വികസിപ്പിച്ച എടുക്കുന്നതിനായി 1988- മുതൽ കുളത്തുപ്പുഴ എസ്റ്റേറ്റിൽ ഒരു നഴ്സുറി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു വരുന്നു. തൊടുപുഴ സീഡ് ഗാർഡനിൽ നിന്നും ഗുണമേൻമയുള്ള വിത്തുകൾ കൊണ്ടുവരികയും 16 മാസം ശാസ്ത്രീയമായി വളർത്തിയ ശേഷം കർഷകർക്ക് വിതരണം ചെയുകയും ചെയുന്നു. കൃത്യമായ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പും വേർതിരിക്കലും മുഖേന ഉയർന്ന ഗുണനിലവാരമുള്ള ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ ലഭ്യമാവുന്നു. തൈകൾ കീടാക്രമണങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും കളകളിൽ നിന്നും രക്ഷിച്ചു വളങ്ങൾ നൽകി പരിപാലിക്കുന്നു.
